From a wood shop to a web shop.
My pop had a wood shop in his basement. He taught us how to work with our hands: measure twice, cut once, finish well. I've never stopped doing that. I just traded saws for keyboards.
My grandpa on my mom's side started a family business in his 40s. My dad grew it beyond anything my grandfather imagined, and it's now in its third generation. He put us to work young, cleaning the offices and mowing the grass, and showed us every day what it takes to build something that lasts. Between his example and my pop's wood shop, I picked up what Siebird still runs on: craftsmanship and our word.
After college, I spent five years at an agency building websites for the building materials industry. By night, I freelanced, and in 2007 that side work got a name: Siebird. By 2010, it had grown enough to become an official business.
Until 2018, it was just me, building sites for manufacturing and industrial clients. In 2018, the work outgrew one person, and I started hiring, slowly and on purpose.
Today, we have an office in York, PA, and the wider team works remotely. We're still small enough that you'll meet everyone.
